One of the Isle of Sheppey’s most iconic buildings, the award-winning Royal Hotel, Sheerness, is to be given a refurbishment costing more than £100,000 by brewers Shepherd Neame. Our Pub of the week this week is footballs ‘other’ spiritual home - The Freemasons Arms, Covent Garden. The Victorian-built Freemasons Arms pub in Long Acre is a lasting tribute to the founders of the Football Association.

This week’s pub is the incredible Grove Ferry Inn located in the Stodmarsh Nature Reserve, on the beautiful River Stour - just 7 minutes from historic Canterbury’s city centre. The pub was originally built in 1831 and takes its name from a hand drawn ferry that once crossed the river in front of the pub.

Our pub of the week this week is the spectacular Horse and Groom - a striking grade II listed building beautifully situated on Rushlake village green in the heart of the East Sussex countryside. The award winning pub absolutely oozes with history and can be dated back to 1650; it has had its current name since at least 1777.
