Pub of the Week: The Botany Bay Hotel, Broadstairs

Posted: 16th December 2016

Situated on the magnificent Kingsgate cliff top, the Botany Bay Hotel in Broadstairs is the perfect destination for a seaside escape.

Food lovers will enjoy a wonderful array of British dishes with an international modern twist, made with some of the finest locally-sourced ingredients. As might be expected, given its coastal location, seafood dishes are a speciality here.

As well as fine dining, the hotel offers a bar menu with a selection of tasty snacks and traditional pub food. The bar also serves some great Shepherd Neame beers as well as an excellent selection of wines from independent family vineyards around the world.

For those who would like to stay, the hotel offers 30 en-suite bedrooms, many of which have direct views of the beautiful Botany Bay. Each room has a modern, stylish interior and is well equipped, with Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV, a hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities.

The Botany Bay Hotel is also an excellent venue for all manner of functions. It is particularly popular for weddings, and it is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies in the ground floor function room, which has panoramic views of the sea.

It is also a popular venue for private parties and business meetings / conferences, where free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel is a great bonus.

As well as the magnificent sea views, the local area offers a range of entertainment for visitors, from golf (the hotel is very near the Open Championship links courses of Prince’s Golf Club and The Royal St. George’s in Sandwich) to shopping (Broadstairs has a delightful range of independent shops in the High Street, and there are larger shopping centres nearby) and much, much more.
