Pub of the Week: The Globe Inn, Hythe

Posted: 23rd November 2016

Dating back to the 1600s, The Globe Inn is one of the oldest surviving buildings in the pretty coastal market town of Hythe, a quintessentially English pub serving traditional pub food and Kentish cask ales.

Inside, you'll find a cosy and comfortable bar with an open fire and lots of historic photos of Hythe. Outside is a secluded courtyard garden, with colourful floral displays in spring and summer.

As winner of the Shepherd Neame Beer Hero Award 2016, you can be sure of a top quality pint of Kentish ale from the bar, along with a choice of international lagers, cider and wines.

Home cooked meals and bar snacks are available all day, with meals made from locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Choose from comforting classics such as Steak & Kidney Pie and Hand Cut Chips, Homemade Lasagne, or Pork and Sage Sausage and Mash. Being close to the sea, the pub also has a choice of fish dishes, including their own very tasty fish pie.

On the menu you will also notice beer and food matching suggestions, and if you’re not sure which beer or wine to choose to complement your meal, the knowledgeable staff will be happy to advise.

The Globe Inn has live music on Saturday evenings, with a wide range of popular local bands playing all types of music from across the decades. The pub also has a darts team, and hosts occasionally charity events.

If you’re looking for a venue for a party or event, the Globe Inn team will be happy to help, and arrange any buffet or catering you need.
