Whitstable Bay Collection Unveils New Red IPA

Posted: 7th September 2016

Whitstable Bay Red IPA is the newest permanent addition to the Whitstable Bay Collection from the Faversham Steam Brewery.

Deep red in colour, Whitstable Bay Red IPA (4.5% ABV) is a rich, full bodied beer, combining the citrus fruit and pine aromas of an IPA with roasted and caramel malt flavours.

It features Pale Ale, Crystal, Caramalt, and Roasted Barley malts, with Kentish Challenger hops for bitterness and American Amarillo hops for aroma.

The introduction of Red IPA follows the huge success of the collection - comprising Whitstable Bay Pale Ale, Whitstable Bay Blonde Lager, Whitstable Bay Organic Ale and Whitstable Bay Black Oyster Stout - since it was launched in 2013.

All the beers are brewed using 100% natural ingredients, including chalk filtered mineral water from the brewery's own artesian well.

The contemporary design for Whitstable Bay Red IPA features an oyster dredger silhouette on a striking red background, reflecting its namesake – the popular coastal town of Whitstable. There is also a tap handle shaped in the style of a barge sail, to reflect the beer’s nautical origins.

It will be available in 500ml bottle and on draught keg (both 4.5% ABV) from September 12, 2016.
