Looking to the future

And onwards

Today Shepherd Neame is Britain’s largest independent family brewer, producing 50 million pints annually, and exporting to more than 35 countries. Perhaps best known for great British classic ales such as Spitfire, which carries the Royal Warrant, the brewery’s diverse portfolio includes contemporary brands such as the Bear Island and Whitstable Bay Collections. It also brews international lagers under licence including premium Thai lager Singha, and continues to expand and innovate with First Drop Session IPA, Iron Wharf stout and Creekside Juicy IPA joining the roster in 2025.

And the awards keep coming with 1698 Bottle Conditioned Ale and Bishops Finger both being awarded World’s Best Bitter in their respective ABV categories, and medals for India Pale Ale and Double Stout in the World Beer Awards 2024.

The brewery site boasts an award-winning visitor centre, and the business has just under 280 pubs and hotels throughout London and the South East, from the historic heart of the City to the Kent coastline.

Shepherd Neame may be Britain’s oldest brewer but its approach is anything but old-fashioned. It is an authentic, independent business, yet flexible and agile, characteristics that have enabled the brewery to survive and thrive.
