Green-Fingered Pub Licensee Wins Top Honour

Posted: 5th October 2015

The New Inn in Murston was named best public house in this year’s Sittingbourne in Bloom competition.

Green fingered licensee Keiron Parrish took on the New Inn with his partner Sam Drury in May last year, teaming up with Shepherd Neame for a major refurbishment of the pub totalling £130,000. Since then he has worked hard to create an array of beautiful floral displays, from hanging baskets and window boxes to giant garden planters.

He was delighted to be presented with a trophy and certificate by Swale Deputy Mayor Lesley Ingham at a ceremony on Monday, September 28.

Keiron said:

I have always been keen on gardening, and when we took on the pub, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to indulge my passion. Lots of customers have said how impressed they are by our flowers, and they have definitely helped attract people to the pub. I am really thrilled to win this award in my first year.
