NEW INTERNATIONAL ROLE FOR SHEPHERD NEAME CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Shepherd Neame’s Chief Executive Jonathan Neame has been elected to the Board of the Brewers of Europe to represent the UK’s regional brewers.
Uniting 29 national associations including the UK’s British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA), The Brewers of Europe provides a voice in Brussels to promote beer and represent the interests of Europe’s 10,000+ breweries.
It advocates the creation of the right conditions to allow brewers to continue to freely, cost-effectively and responsibly brew and market beer across Europe. In the wake of the Covid-19 crisis, it has just launched a new #Reconnect campaign calling for support to businesses in the hospitality sector to ensure a safe and sustainable recovery and help those most affected by the shutdowns.
Shepherd Neame’s Chief Executive Jonathan Neame said: “During these challenging times, it is more important than ever to get beer and pubs at the heart of the political debate. The Brewers of Europe provides an essential function in finding common ground for our industry to lobby on important issues including lower taxation, sustainable brewing, and the revival of the hospitality sector to ensure jobs are protected. I am delighted to join their Board and represent our regional brewers on an international stage.”
