TOP AWARD FOR SHEPHERD NEAME BEER
Shepherd Neame’s Double Stout has been honoured at the International Brewers Awards.
The black, creamy beer, part of the Faversham-based brewer’s Classic Collection, was awarded Bronze in the Dark Beer (4.8%-5.7% ABV) category.
It features a unique blend of four coloured malts, balanced with a firm bitterness, creating a velvety smooth palate of dry, burnt flavours, complemented by cocoa and coffee notes.
Head of production Mike Unsworth said:
“This is a fantastic achievement, and a great testament to our team’s hard work and dedication. We pride ourselves on producing excellent beers, and it is great to have our efforts recognised at an international level.”
The awards were announced on Friday (March 8) at the National Brewery Centre in Burton upon Trent following two days of judging in which more than 1,000 beers from 21 countries were assessed.
The prizes will be awarded at a ceremony at the Guildhall, London in May.
