Beverley, who ran a bustling restaurant in Vancouver before moving to the UK where she was born and lived until the age of three, is full of enthusiasm for her new role at the pub in Crossways, near Dartford.

Georgina Paxton, who already runs The Hampton Inn in Herne Bay, took on The Rose Inn, less than two miles away, after long-serving licensee Karen Hazell retired last month.
