Every inch the classic country pub, The Juggs comes with a lovely garden and covered terrace to soak up the afternoon sun with the perfect pint or leisurely lunch.

The view from the restaurant is blooming marvellous as planted wildflower seeds have blossomed and attract wildlife, and the hanging baskets provide a riot of colour to take in.

The country pub on the outskirts of Maidstone has some Insta-worthy views of sweeping orchard scenes stretching for miles from its spacious terrace, where you can drink and dine.

The heavily beamed, traditional village pub, which welcomes locals and tourists alike with its many walks to choose from, also has tables to sit at in the perfectly kept garden alongside.

The New Flying Horse, Wye

A very special country inn on the edge of the North Downs, this picturesque pub has one of the best pub gardens in Kent, with stunning planting that’s well kept – the perfect spot for a cream tea in the sunshine.

The spacious garden has seating for up to 60 people and is surrounded by walks to try, as well as a centrepiece Chelsea Pensioner themed garden, Soldiers Dream of Blighty, which was designed by Julian Dowle and won gold at the Chelsea Flower Show.

Visitors can choose from brasserie-style lunches and a full restaurant menu including locally-caught fish specials from the Kent coast.

The Castle Inn, Bodiam

Situated on the Kent/Sussex border and a stone’s throw from historic Bodiam Castle, the country pub is surrounded on three sides by countryside as far as the eye can see and is a special spot for a quite drink.

Its glorious garden offers views of the river and nearby Kent and East Sussex Railway, and is of such a size a helicopter has been known to land there.

The large terraced garden at the rear of the pub is where to take a breath of country air and try some freshly prepared food and exceptional ales.

With its unique location on the River Medway, The Boathouse is the perfect spot to stop off on a riverside walk and take in spectacular views from the glass-fronted restaurant.

Both indoor and outdoor seating areas give you a great view of the water, but if you’re in the mood for alfresco dining, you can head out to the raised terrace and tuck into a menu of Sri Lankan specialties, alongside British classics.

The pub dates back to the 16th century and has a display dedicated to The Railway Children author Edith Nesbit, who regularly stayed at the pub, then known as The Anchor, in the early 1900s.

This historic pub serves our cask ales using its rare ‘gravity-fed’ cellar system, allowing the beer to flow directly from the cask to the glass, so you’re always guaranteed an excellent drop.

This converted tithe barn, dating back to the 17th century, is a charming place to soak up local history, while enjoying a pint in the sun in its contemporary outdoor space.

The stylish terrace, complete with colourful planters and smart garden furniture, overlooks the lawn and its many pub benches.

There’s also a covered area beneath the giant marquee where you can escape for a spot of shade, or duck under for shelter if the British weather turns.

This peaceful beer garden is a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle, with its quiet location on the edge of Faversham, right next to the historic creek and at the end of the medieval Abbey Street.

The large, sloping garden hosts live music and theatre in the summer months, and the menu, created by AA Rosette Award-winning chef Jordan Mallory, features ingredients freshly picked from the site.

After a walk along the creek, or a browse of the independent shops at the nearby Standard Quay, you can sit in this suntrap and admire the leafy trees, potted plants and hanging baskets.

Belle Vue Tavern, Ramsgate

Once a watering hole for smugglers, this clifftop pub is now a destination for both tourists and locals who want to capture an unbeatable view of Pegwell Bay.

The sandy beach sits below the pub garden, affectionately known the ‘Balcony of Kent’, where the terrace faces the dramatic coastline, including uninterrupted views of the ocean and Kent’s unmistakable chalky cliffs.
