£350,000 Refurbishment For Popular Kent Pub

Posted: 9th December 2016
The Manor Farm Barn in Southfleet has reopened after a month-long £350,000 refurbishment.

The restored 18th century barn, winner of the CAMRA Pub Design Award in 2002, has been repainted throughout, and has new lighting, furniture and décor designed to enhance its exposed oak timbers and vaulted ceiling.

Outside, the pub’s thatched roof has been restored and treated, and the exterior repainted with new signwriting, and a new swing sign installed.

The pub’s kitchen has been refurbished and refitted with new equipment including a pizza oven, in order to accommodate the new, expanded food offer.

Manager Chris Abnett said: “We have worked with our team of chefs to create a more exciting and ambitious menu. We will specialise in chargrill, offering prime cuts cooked to order and gourmet burgers. Diners can also choose from a selection of handmade stone baked pizzas, along with a delicious choice of pub classics.”
Five new jobs have been created as a result of the refurbishment.
Shepherd Neame’s director of retail and tenanted operations Nigel Bunting said: “The Manor Farm Barn is a distinctive, characterful venue, and we are confident that with its new look and new menu, it will continue to go from strength to strength.”
