Riverside Pub Wins Third Community Award in Three Years

Posted: 9th September 2016

The Britannia in Guildford has been named Best Pub in the town’s Best Bar None awards for a third year running.

Delivered by Experience Guildford, the town centre’s Business Improvement District, the nationally acclaimed awards celebrate best practice amongst the licensed trade, showcasing the hard work and commitment of Guildford's venues to create and run safe, responsible and inviting town centre pubs, bars and nightclubs.

The riverside pub in Guildford town centre, which was taken over by Shepherd Neame in 2009, has been named Best Pub in the Best Bar None awards every year since they were launched in 2014.

It is the second accolade in recent months for the Britannia, which was also named Pub of the Year at the annual Shepherd Neame Pub Awards in July.

Manager Lee Walker said:

We are committed to working in partnership with the Guildford’s licensing, police and associated organisations to help enhance and promote the town as a fantastic place to socialise. We are absolutely delighted to be recognised for our efforts with this award for a third year.
