DINING IN THE DARK AT THE ROYAL HOTEL

Posted: 28th March 2019

A Dine in the Dark event at The Royal Hotel in Deal raised more than £1,200 for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The sensory dining event, organised by the charity’s Deal, Dover and Sandwich branch, challenged guests to eat a three course meal blindfolded.

The unique fundraiser also included a raffle and an auction with lots including a brewery tour for two donated by Shepherd Neame, and a three course meal for two with wine donated by The Royal Hotel.

The event took place on March 2 and raised a total of £1,265. Branch spokesman Liz Sykes said:

“We would like to say a huge thank you to the Royal Hotel’s staff for their hard work hosting our Dine in the Dark event. We were so impressed with their support throughout the preparation and the night itself, particularly the care which went into the menu planning to ensure a wide variety of textures and flavours for guests to experience.”
