Pub of the Week: The Ashburnham Arms, Greenwich

Posted: 2nd August 2018

Enjoy a warm welcome, a great pint and delicious home-cooked food in the heart of Greenwich.

The Ashburnham Arms is tucked away in a quiet residential street just five minutes’ walk from the busy town centre, and has been serving the local community since 1850.

It is the perfect place to enjoy a meal or drink with friends in summer, with a spacious front patio and a large rear garden with extensive seating and children’s play area.

Local Kentish beers currently available on draught include Master Brew, Whitstable Bay Pale Ale, Spitfire Gold, Whitstable Bay Red IPA, Whitstable Bay Black Stout, Whitstable Bay Blonde Lager, Five Grain Lager and Spitfire Lager. Shepherd Neame’s Orchard View Apple Cider is also being served.

A delicious menu of homemade pub classics, including Fish and Chips and the popular Ashburnham Burger, are available from 6pm to 9.30pm Thursday to Saturday. Every dish is cooked from scratch using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Booking is advised for the traditional Sunday Roast, served from 12.30pm to 5pm.

Tuesday is Pizza Night, with nine different varieties of homemade pizza served from 6pm to 9.30pm. A Quiz Night is also held every Tuesday from 8.30pm, with free entry for all those who order pizza before it starts.

And if you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion, the Ashburnham Arms is able to host up to 100 people in the garden for a private summer barbecue event, or up to 50 people in the bar area.
