Pub of the Week: The Anchor, Faversham

A warm welcome is guaranteed at The Anchor in the medieval market town of Faversham.

Dating back more than 300 years, the traditional pub boasts a host of historic features including oak beamed ceilings and original fireplaces, and is just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre, close to Faversham creek.

It is renowned for its food, offering a delicious menu of light bites, pub classics and á la carte dishes, freshly cooked to order using the finest local produce. Booking is recommended, particularly for The Anchor’s popular Sunday Roast.

The Anchor is also a fantastic destination if you simply want to enjoy a drink with friends and family. When the weather is chilly, get cosy by one of the real log fires, or when the sun is shining, relax in the pub’s spacious enclosed beer garden.

Real ale enthusiasts can choose between Master Brew, Bishops Finger or Whitstable Bay Pale Ale, and for lager lovers, Spitfire Lager, Whitstable Bay Blonde Lager and San Miguel are being poured, along with Guinness and Thatchers Gold .

The Anchor is also a great entertainment venue, boasting live music every Sunday and a monthly quiz night, in addition to regular one-off events.

The pub is open every day from 12 noon. Food is served from 12 noon to 3pm and 6pm to 9pm, Tuesday to Friday; 12 noon to 3.30pm and 6pm to 9pm on Saturday; and 12 noon to 3pm on Sunday.
