Pub of the Week: The Bull, Newick

Posted: 7th February 2018

The Bull in Newick officially reopened on 23rd January with a fresh new look, following extensive refurbishment work.

Nestled in the village of Newick, this 17th Century Grade II Listed coaching inn boasts original features such as old oak beams and inglenook fireplaces, with log fires in winter and a secluded courtyard for warmer days.

Inside, the pub’s new landlords Greg and Angelena (who also run the Red Lion in Chelwood Gate and The Plough in Upper Dicker) have updated the interior décor throughout, including rebuilding the bar with stylish copper and zinc fittings, and refurbished the inn’s nine double en-suite rooms.

A new kitchen has been installed, and The Bull now boasts a delicious new menu of traditional pub classics with an international flavour, along with sharing boards and handmade bar nibbles.

The Bull’s nine comfortable bed and breakfast rooms are all equipped with everything you need for a weekend away discovering the Sussex countryside, and offer some of the best value accommodation near Lewes.
