Pub of the Week: The Crown & Anchor, Shoreham

The Crown & Anchor is a busy, friendly pub situated on the High Street in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex. 

While to the front it faces onto the bustling High Street of this charming West Sussex seaside town, to the rear a broad riverside terrace offers spectacular views over the River Adur, making it ideal for al-fresco dining in warmer weather, while relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

Inside, floor to ceiling glass windows give a light, bright and airy feel, and allow you to enjoy the views whatever the weather.

Well known for its great food, the menu offers a wide choice with speciality sandwiches, small plates, pub classics and burgers and, as you would expect form their coastal location, a range of fresh fish dishes.

On the bar you’ll find a choice of all your usual favourites, including cask ales, ciders, international lagers and wines from around the world.

The Crown & Anchor has a lively schedule of events, with salsa dancing (including free lessons!) on Mondays from 8pm, a quiz on Tuesdays, singles night and comedy club on alternate Wednesdays, open mic on Thursdays and live music Fridays.  There is also a Club Classics DJ night on Saturdays from 10pm until late, and a gin and cocktail bar open from Thursday to Sunday every week, and relaxed Sunday afternoon live music!
