Pub of the Week: The White Lion, Selling

The White Lion, Selling is a traditional English village pub offering real ale, world wines and delicious food in a beautiful countryside location.

Being close to Perry Wood, an ancient woodland offering a variety of walks and footpaths, the pub is popular with ramblers, as well as cyclists, families and local villagers alike.

Inside, you will find a welcoming bar and dining area, with roaring log fires to warm up by in the winter, with plenty of seating outside for relaxing on warmer days.

The menu offers an excellent choice of high quality pub food, with something for everyone, from snacks and sandwiches to burgers, pub classics and a range of tempting seasonal dishes. Thursday night is steak night, with rump steak, chips and all the trimmings for just £15 for two.  Friday night it’s classic fish and chips, available to eat in or take away.  On Sundays you can enjoy a sumptuous traditional roast served from 12 until 4 and, if you’ve left it a little late, there is also a Sunday Supper menu from 4.30 – 7.30pm.

There’s lots going on at the pub, with a monthly quiz on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, and regular live music from some of the best local bands around.

Christmas bookings are now being taken for festive dining throughout December.  Call the team now to book a festive get together with friends, colleagues or family. For larger groups, the White Lion can happily accommodate groups of up to 40 in their stunning new function room.
