Pub of the Week: The Bucks Head, Sevenoaks

Posted: 24th October 2017

The Buck’s Head is a beautiful country pub in the village of Godden Green near Sevenoaks, offering fine food and drink in an idyllic rural setting.

You can expect a warm welcome from landlord and landlady Ralph and Carol, and everything else you would want from a traditional village pub. With oak beams, roaring log fires, and comfy sofas as well as a spacious bar, dining area, and large garden, it’s a pub to settle into, and feel at home.

On the bar you’ll find quality real ales, lagers, wines and spirits, plus softer options, tea and coffee.

The Buck’s Head offers some of the area’s finest pub food. Head chef Stuart and his team change the menu with the seasons, with winter specialities including venison, wood pigeon, pheasant and other game dishes. There are plenty of gluten free options, creative vegetarian choices, and a special Sunday roast to round off the week in style.

If we were to visit today, we would choose baked camembert with confit garlic to start, followed by Cumberland sausages, mash and onion gravy, finishing off in style with an espresso and Baileys crème brulee. In addition to the a la carte menu, there are sandwiches, salads, steaks, the pub’s signature homemade burgers, and a children’s menu.

The pub is close to the National Trust’s Knole Park, with its manor house and wild deer herd, the ideal place to enjoy a walk with the family.

For more information, visit the pub’s website, find them on Facebook or call the team on 01732 761330.
