Pub of the Week: The Bull, Tunbridge Wells

Posted: 1st September 2017

The Bull in Tunbridge Wells is an attractive pub not far from the historic Pantiles district of Tunbridge Wells, famous for its colonnaded walkway of shops, galleries and boutiques.

The pub is a popular choice for visitors, shoppers and locals alike, and has a firm place in the heart of the local community.

Inside there is a large, airy bar with plenty of natural light, and the choice of internal décor is modern and stylish, while retaining a generous helping of country charm. Outside there are pretty courtyard gardens to both the front and rear, perfect for relaxing on a sunny day. The barn has recently been restored and refurbished, creating an attractive and atmospheric further seating area, facing onto the garden.

The pub recently won ‘Pub Food of the Year’ at the Shepherd Neame Pub Awards 2017, in recognition of their excellent food offer. Head chef and landlord Alex has many years of experience cooking at some of London’s top eateries, which shows in the very high quality of the dishes served.  You can browse sample menus here.

From Tuesday to Saturday lunchtime customers can take advantage of the £10 ‘Dish of the Day’ which represents fantastic value, with a drink included, plus children under 10 eat free when dining with an adult – see their website for full details. On Sundays enjoy a sumptuous roast – booking essential as this is very popular!

On the bar you will find a range of excellent cask ales including seasonal ales, choice of lagers, cider, a good wine list and your usual softer options.

The pub hosts also regular live music. For more information, visit the pub’s website, follow them on Facebook, Twitter, or give them a call on 01892 263489.
