Pub of the Week: The Black Boy, Sevenoaks

Posted: 28th July 2017

The Black Boy is a popular pub in the heart of Sevenoaks town centre, the ideal place to meet for lunch, or relax with friends in the evening.

Manager Will Arnold was recently presented with the ‘Manager of the Year’ Award at the Shepherd Neame Pub Awards 2017 in recognition of his consist hard work over his eight years at the pub, building a strong team and developing the business with passion and enthusiasm.

Inside, the Black Boy successfully combines a traditional pub with the stylish modern feel of a wine bar, with wooden floors, plenty of seating, and a few cosy corners to settle into. Outside, there is a pleasant courtyard area which forms part of the pedestrianized section of the town, perfect for watching the world go by.

At lunchtime, there is a menu of sandwiches and pub classics, as well as daily specials, and in the evenings a range of tempting bar snacks to accompany your post-work pint. On the bar you’ll find a good choice of cask ales, lagers and ciders, a carefully chosen selection of world wines, plus all your usual soft drinks.

Situated in the centre of Sevenoaks, the pub is a great destination for a post shopping lunch, or stop off after visiting one of the local attractions, such as the National Trust’s Knole Park. The town’s Stag Theatre is also a short walk away.

In keeping with the pub’s relaxed ambience, there is an acoustic music night the first Tuesday of every month, and the last Monday of every month is wine and cheese night, where you can linger over a bottle of wine and complimentary cheeseboard.  There is also a new quiz night, every Tuesday apart from the first in the month.

The pub is available for private hire on Sundays, with catering available.
