Tonbridge Pub Sponsors Ladies' Football Team

Posted: 22nd September 2016

The Foresters Arms in Tonbridge has teamed up with the local Tonbridge Angels Ladies’ football team.

Licensee Tyson Marshall took on the pub at the end of March, and invested £25,000 on a refurbishment, which attracted a significant number of new customers including the football team.

Tyson said:

The team started coming to the pub regularly when I took over, and when they asked me about the possibility of sponsorship I was delighted to help. I wanted to support them as much as they have been supporting me.

After beginning as a small training session with eight women in June last year, the team has grown to more than 80 members. They officially became part of Tonbridge Angels in October and kicked off in league football last Sunday.

Tyson agreed to sponsor the team’s training jackets, which now sport the pub’s name, and was delighted to help them celebrate a 5-1 win in their first game last week.

Tonbridge Angels Ladies’ manager Dan Couldridge said:

Since his arrival, Tyson has done a great job transforming The Foresters Arms into a vibrant meeting place. We use the pub as our base for the team to socialise after matches and occasionally after training. We are delighted that Tyson has provided us with this sponsorship.

The Foresters Arms is open from 12noon to 11pm, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 12noon to midnight on Friday and Saturday; and 12noon to 9pm on Sunday.
