Pub of the Week:The Poyntz Arms, East Molesey

Posted: 28th September 2016

The Poyntz Arms is a vibrant, popular pub in the centre of East Molesey, just around the corner from Hampton Court Palace.

In September 2015, the pub benefitted from a refurbishment that transformed the pub, giving it a fresh new look with a refurbished bar, new glass lobby, and new flooring, furniture, and feature lighting throughout. Outside, the garden has been landscaped, and a covered pergola added, with heaters for colder days.

Licensee Michael, who took over the pub last year, has also introduced food for the first time.  He was presented with the New Licensee of the Year Award at the 2016 Shepherd Neame Pub Awards, in recognition of his success in creating what is now a welcoming, lively pub with a great new

Enjoy your choice of ribs, pork belly or chicken seasoned with their own house rub, before being slow-cooked in their own in-house American smoker, all served with fries, corn on the cob and BBQ beans.

They also have a range of burgers to choose from, with options such as a homemade pork and chorizo burger, with jack cheese, mayonnaise, salad and pickles, plus a range of ‘Little Eats’, sharing platters and jackets, children’s menu and blackboard specials!

On the bar you’ll find a refreshing choice of cask ales and international lagers, as well as an extensive selection of bottled beers and ciders, wines and premium soft drinks.

The Poyntz Arms run a fortnightly quiz, and host regular live music. They also have sport on TV, with screens large enough for easy viewing if you want to watch, but carefully placed to be unobtrusive if you don’t.

Food is served throughout the week at lunch and dinner time, all day Saturday until 9pm and Sunday until 6pm. No need to book – just pitch up and eat great BBQ!
