TREAT YOURSELF TO A UNIQUE NEW AFTERNOON TEA EXPERIENCE
Britain’s oldest brewer Shepherd Neame has teamed up with Britain’s oldest tea merchant Twinings. The independent family brewery and pub company is now serving Twinings’ premium range of teas at selected pubs and hotels across its estate.
To celebrate the new partnership, Shepherd Neame’s food team has worked with Twinings’ Master blenders to create an exclusive Afternoon Tea Tasting Menu, with teas carefully selected to match the sweet and savoury treats on offer.
It begins with a welcome drink of Twinings’ Mango & Pineapple tea with Prosecco or Revive on Ice infusion, followed by a selection of sandwiches accompanied by Simply Sencha Green Tea or The Earl tea.
Guests then enjoy scones infused with Earl Grey-soaked raisins, accompanied by Strawberry Green Tea or Full English tea.
This is followed by a selection of cakes accompanied by Thoroughly Minted or Revive teas, then to finish, Petit Fours with a Rooibos & Honey layered tea latte.
Head Development Chef Simon Howlett said: “Our traditional afternoon tea is always incredibly popular, so we thought that the launch of our new partnership with Twinings offered a perfect opportunity to try something different and introduce customers to the diverse range of teas available from Twinings, from classic black teas to fruit and herbal infusions, cold water infusions and lattes. We are really pleased with the flavour combinations and are confident that this exclusive experience will prove popular with our customers.”
Mike Fox, Customer Development at Twinings said: “With over 300 years of tea blending experience, we are delighted to be working with Shepherd Neame to create such an innovative tea and food pairings menu. Whether you’re a savoury person, or into something a little sweeter, we’ve selected versatile blends of teas and infusions that will truly enhance your taste experience.”
The exclusive Twinings Afternoon Tea Tasting menu is priced £64.95 for two people, available now at the following sites: The Marine Hotel, Tankerton; The Minnis Bay Bar and Brasserie, Birchington; The Bell Hotel, Sandwich; and the Botany Bay Hotel, Kingsgate.
