SHEPHERD NEAME NAMED OFFICIAL BREWERY PARTNER FOR AWARD-WINNING BLACK DEER FESTIVAL

Posted: 8th June 2022

Independent family brewer Shepherd Neame has been named the official brewery partner for this summer’s Black Deer Festival.

It is the third edition of the award-winning independent festival, which will be taking place from June 17 to 19 in the wild, historic surroundings of Eridge Park near Tunbridge Wells.

A family-friendly festival celebrating Americana music and the culture that surrounds it, this year’s line-up includes headliners Van Morrison, Wilco, The Waterboys and James. Other performers include Jake Bugg, Ward Thomas and Imelda May, who will be among more than 100 Roots-inspired artists performing across seven stages during the three-day event.

Festival-goers will be able to enjoy limited edition Black Deer Lager brewed exclusively for the event by Shepherd Neame, along with three of its most popular cask ales; Whitstable Bay Pale Ale, Spitfire Amber Ale and Master Brew.

The Faversham-based brewer is also supplying its award-winning Bear Island beer range, comprising East Coast Pale Ale, Triple Hopped Lager, and Noughty Bear 0.5% IPA, along with Angry Orchard and Sheppy’s Raspberry ciders.

Bear Island will be brought to life at the event in an exclusive Silent Disco, with adult festival-goers invited to dance the night away at free events running from 6pm to midnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be several channels available for dancers to listen to on their headphones, ranging from Americana provided by a team of Black Deer’s DJs, to a special Bear Island-themed playlist including a host of tracks guaranteed to unleash your wild side!

Shepherd Neame Marketing Manager Louise Buet said: “We are proud to partner with this year’s Black Deer Festival, which aligns particularly well with the values of independence and adventure encapsulated in our Bear Island brand. We are really excited about launching our first Bear Island Silent Disco and look forward to welcoming festival-goers to enjoy our award-winning brands throughout the weekend.”
