DISCOVER THE NEW BEAR ISLAND BBQ BURGER

Posted: 24th March 2022

Fans of Bear Island beers are in for a delicious treat, with the launch of the limited edition Bear Island BBQ Burger.

Served in a toasted bun with a bespoke tomato relish, bacon, Ashmore Kentish cheese, smoky barbecue relish, crispy parsnips and skin-on thin fries, it has been purposely designed to complement the Bear Island collection of beers.

The multi award-winning beer range was launched in 2017 by independent Kent brewer Shepherd Neame, combining native British hops with hops imported from the US to create beers with bold and contemporary taste profiles. It comprises Bear Island East Coast Pale Ale (4.8% ABV), Triple Hopped Lager (4.6% ABV) and Noughty Bear 0.5% IPA, which are distinctive in both flavour and design, with the bright colour palette reflecting their hop-forward profile.

Shepherd Neame’s Marketing Manager Louise Buet said: “We have been working with our food team on dishes to pair with our Bear Island family, and discovered that barbecue was one of the flavours that worked best, so we developed the Bear Island BBQ Burger. It is a delicious new addition to our menu, perfect to enjoy with any of our Bear Island beers.”

The Bear Island BBQ Burger will be on offer at the following sites from tomorrow (Friday, March 25): The Spitfire, Kings Hill; The Limes, Faversham; The Woolpack, Banstead; The Sun, Faversham; Market House, Maidstone; Pier 5, Chatham Maritime; The Boathouse, Yalding; The Vine, Tenterden; The Swan and Dog, Great Chart and The Star Inn, Guildford.

The limited edition burger has been launched as part of Bear Island’s ongoing Born to Roam campaign, teaming up with British explorers The Turner Twins to inspire drinkers to discover the exciting flavours of the Bear Island range and enjoy new experiences.

As part of the campaign, Bear Island is giving its followers the opportunity to win hundreds of limited edition prizes on its social channels. One lucky winner will receive a luxury one night glamping stay for six people in Bear Lodge at Kent safari destination Port Lympne, home to more than 900 rare and endangered animals. The luxurious hilltop retreat boasts spectacular views of the 600 acre reserve and overlooks Kent’s only spectacled bear habitat. The prize also includes a group safari, £500 spending money and year’s supply of Bear Island beer to share.
