A DINNER DATE WITH LUCY RIVERS BULKELEY FRGS
Join us for an evening of delicious food and inspirational conversation with British explorer Lucy Rivers-Bulkeley FRGS.
Lucy is the first European woman to compete the 4 Deserts Grand Slam - the equivalent of 24 marathons across the Atacama, Gobi, Sahara and Antartica deserts - and six of the seven highest summits.
As if that wasn’t enough of a challenge, she has then gone on to complete six of the seven highest summits of Aconcagua, Elbrus, Kilimanjaro, Kosciuszko, Denali and Everest with the aim to complete Vinson in the near future.
Lucy will give an honest talk about the challenges she faced whilst completing her adventures and share insights into what motivates her to succeed.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Shepherd Neame Charity of the Year, the Silas Pullen Fund in aid of the Brain Tumour Charity, set up in the memory of Faversham schoolboy Silas Pullen, who died from an aggressive brain tumour in 2013.
Lucy began undertaking charity challenges after losing her father Johnny to brain and oesophageal cancer in 2007, so it is a cause close to her heart.
The event takes place at The Old Brewery Store, Faversham
Tuesday, July 9th from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
£15 per person, to include a curry buffet dinner.
