Nestled on the outskirts of Maidstone in the heart of the Garden of England is Kingsland’s, a family-run business who have been supplying locally grown fruit and vegetables to the catering sector for over 60 years. Kingsland’s is run by Managing Director Simon Kingsland, who has been at the company for over 35 years.
Simon said: “We are proud of our trading relationship with local farmers many of which have been built up over decades. “Produce is collected directly by us from local farms maximising freshness and reducing food miles, this produce can be harvested, delivered to our customers and served on a plate within hours; it doesn’t get much fresher than that!”
Due to customer demand, Kingsland’s product range has expanded over the years, with a full range of dairy and bakery products on offer, alongside a fantastic range of hand-crafted Kent cheeses.
A strict policy of product traceability is in operation: produce is only sourced from approved and accredited farms and growers, not only in Kent but throughout the UK.
Simon added: “We are proud to supply Shepherd Neame who share the same beliefs about local produce as we do. We strive to find the best quality local produce ensuring our customers can be confident that they will receive good, local ingredients. I speak to our local growers every day of the week, making sure we are receiving the best quality fruit, salads and vegetables.”
Kingsland’s work closely alongside its customers, helping them to produce seasonal menus throughout the year and keeping them informed of monthly seasonal changes and local produce specials.
