BRITAIN’S OLDEST BREWER IN US CRAFT COLLABORATION
Shepherd Neame, Britain’s oldest brewer, has teamed up with American craft brewer Coronado to create an exciting new collaboration beer.
Coronado West Coast Session IPA will have an ABV of 5%. Hops used included Apollo and Azacca.
Shawn Steele, Director of Brewery Operations at Coronado, visited the Faversham Brewery last month and worked with the Shepherd Neame brewing team to create the new beer. During his time in Faversham he stayed at The Sun Inn.
Shawn said:
“Our brewery is a modern affair, so to work in such historic surroundings at Shepherd Neame was a real thrill. Everyone is very excited about the beer we’ve created and I’m sure it will go down well with customers.”
Shepherd Neame’s Head Brewer Mike Unsworth said:
“It was fascinating for our team to work alongside Shawn, it was a real coming together of different brewing styles and cultures.”
The Coronado Brewing Company started back in 1996 as a brewpub located on the beach on Coronado Island, San Diego, California. In the intervening years they have grown substantially and now enjoy a high profile in the competitive and crowded San Diego craft beer market.
In addition to producing an eclectic range of beers, which now enjoy national American distribution, they also run a shop, restaurant, tasting room and the original brewpub venue.
Coronado West Coast Session IPA will be available in Wetherspoon pubs nationwide from July 21 for a short time only.
