Shepherd Neame Shortlisted for the Taste of Kent Awards 2015
Britain’s oldest brewer Shepherd Neame has been shortlisted for two categories in the Taste of Kent Awards 2015.
The Faversham-based brewery’s Whitstable Bay Pale Ale is up for Best Kentish Beer, while The Kings Head in Wye, part of its tenanted estate, is up for Kent Dining Pub of the Year.
Now in their 11th year, the awards are organised by Produced in Kent to showcase the county’s finest food and drink products. Members of the public are asked to pick and vote for their favourite producers, retailers, restaurants, dining pubs and farmers’ markets.
More than 550 businesses were nominated this year, and the top three with the most public votes from each category were announced on Monday, January 12. These will now go forward to be judged by mystery shoppers and diners or an expert judging panel. The final winners will be revealed at a black tie awards dinner on March 12, 2015 at the Kent Events Centre in Detling.

This year has again seen people voting in their thousands with the number of votes we received up by around 50%. From all across the county, the people of Kent have chosen the tastes, flavours, products, produce and venues that they have enjoyed the most over the last 12 months.
