FOND FAREWELL TO LONG-SERVING SHEPHERD NEAME MANAGERS

Posted: 18th February 2020

Shepherd Neame has bid a fond farewell to two of its longest serving pub and hotel managers, Brian and Anne Hogg.

The couple joined Shepherd Neame 24 years ago, starting at The Crown Inn, Sarre before taking on The Woolpack Inn, Chilham. They then moved to The Dog and Bear Hotel in Lenham, which they have run for the past 15 years.

Brian, 56, and Anne, 47, completed their last shift on Friday, February 14, and will be relocating to Selkirk in their native Scotland.

Anne said:

“We have two daughters who are now in their twenties and no longer living at home, so it felt like the right time for us to move back home and reconnect with family and friends.”

To mark their departure, Shepherd Neame organised a farewell dinner at the brewery earlier this month. Chief Executive Jonathan Neame presented the couple with a framed picture, flowers and champagne to mark their departure.

He said:

"We are very sad to see Anne and Brian go. They have always been fantastic ambassadors for Shepherd Neame – dedicated, professional and incredibly passionate about their work. They are also absolutely sensational when it comes to training staff. They will be much missed.”

Brian added:

“We have absolutely loved our time with Shepherd Neame, but we feel it is time for a rest. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years, particularly the local community in Lenham. They weren’t just customers, they became friends.”
