Historic Seafront Hotel Reopens After £650,000 Refurbishment

A £650,000 refurbishment project including a major restaurant expansion has been completed at the Royal Albion in Broadstairs by Shepherd Neame.

Constructed in 1760, the 21-bedroom hotel is situated in the heart of the quaint cobbled streets of Broadstairs, and boasts a commanding position on the clifftop overlooking Viking Bay.
 
The extensive four-month programme of work included building a new conservatory on the former raised decking area, which can accommodate up to 40 diners, and offers spectacular sea views. The hotel’s à la carte restaurant has also been remodelled to create a more light and airy feel, with new décor and furniture throughout.
 
New equipment has been installed in the hotel kitchen, which has undergone a revamp, and the toilets have been refurbished, with the ladies’ facilities relocated to the ground floor from the basement for convenience.
 
Outside, the garden has been re-landscaped, with new furniture, colourful planters and a new decking area.

Manager Dean Markham said: “The hotel looks fantastic, and we have been thrilled to receive some amazing feedback from customers. We are lucky to enjoy breathtaking sea views from our position on the clifftop, and the new conservatory really makes the most of that.”
