Red Sails Cherry Porter
Enjoy a real taste of Kent with Red Sails Cherry Porter, flavoured with the Garden of England’s famous Morello cherries.
Originally developed in our pilot brewery, the hand crafted seasonal ale is now among the collection of No.18 Yard Brewhouse beers available nationwide.
Red Sails Cherry Porter is named in honour of historic Thames sailing barge The Greta. First launched in 1892, she was a working cargo barge exporting the finest Kentish produce to the capital, including beer from the Faversham Brewery and succulent Morello cherries from the local orchards. Although Greta no longer carries cargo, her red sails are still frequently visible on the Thames as she provides sailing day trips for individuals and private charters.

Nearly black in colour, the porter boasts a rich aroma of cherry roasted chocolate and a smooth cherry palate, created by a trio of ale, crystal and chocolate malts, along with the delicious flavours of Kentish Morello cherries. Admiral hops have been used for bittering, and Goldings for late hopping.
