LONDON – FAVERSHAM

Sunday 16th May

Climb aboard the train of historic carriages and settle back into your reserved seat for a nostalgic day out. At the head of your train will be  locomotive 70013 “Oliver Cromwell”. Sister locomotives were once a common sight racing through Kent at the head of famous express trains such as the “Golden Arrow” and No. 70013 hauled the very last steam passenger train on British Railways in 1968.

Your train will steam out of London Victoria at around 9.30am*, and call at Bromley South before heading through the Maidstone East, Ashford and Canterbury  to  Faversham where arrival in is expected at 12.30pm*.

There will be plenty of time to stroll around the town and view the town also boasts a wealth of pubs and eateries.  Limited spaces are available for lunch in the magnificent surroundings of the 15th Century function room at the Brewery Visitor Centre.  The traditional roast lunch is freshly prepared with local ingredients.

There’s time too for a tour of the Shepherd Neame so why not take a look behind the scenes at Britain’s Oldest Brewer and enjoy a pint or two in the Visitor Centre bar?  Advance booking is strongly recommended.

After a pleasant afternoon in the town, rejoin the train for the return journey via Dover, Ashford, Bromley South and Victoria. Arrival back in London is expected at  8.30pm*.
