People, Pubs & Planet

Because we're committed to doing the right thing for our communities, our people and our environment, we have set out three ambitious key pledges as part of our ongoing People, Pubs & Planet sustainability strategy.

Our three major pledges

  1. Net zero carbon for direct emissions by 2030
  2. Net zero for scope 3 emissions (i.e. non-Shepherd Neame partners) no later than 2040
  3. Zero waste to landfill by 2025

These objectives are purposefully ambitious and, while we recognise there is more to be done, we are proud of our achievements so far. We've been delighted by the incredible support and enthusiasm for this strategy that we’ve seen from our team members and licensees.

Energy

Waste

Accreditations

Shepherd Neame’s accreditations include the BRC (British Retail Consortium) Global Standard for Food Safety and FEMAS (Feed Materials Assurance Scheme).

We are the only brewer in the UK to have Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status for our beers, aimed at highlighting regional and traditional food and drink whose authenticity and origin can be guaranteed. Our beers with PGI status are Spitfire Amber Kentish Ale and Master Brew Kentish Ale, Bishops Finger Kentish Strong Ale and 1698 Bottle Conditioned Kentish Strong Ale.
