The train will also make a trip from Faversham for festival-goers wishing to take a nostalgic trip behind steam – provisional departure 2.00pm*. The journey will afford passengers excellent views as the train steams to Gillingham and then runs diesel-hauled onto the Isle of Sheppey and Sheerness.  Steam will again be in charge for the final leg from Sheerness to Faversham.

*Exact details, timings and routes subject to confirmation by Network Rail.

Should 30777 not be permitted, then one of other wonderfully-restored locomotives in the care of the 5305 Locomotive Association, i.e. 70013 or 45305, will haul the train.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
SKU: The Hop PickerTerms and Conditions of Travel
Description:

Once booked, tickets are non-returnable and non-refundable.

The route and running times are subject to confirmation by Network Rail and passengers will be sent final details along with confirmation of their seat allocation in due course.  Often, timetables are not finalised until a few days prior to travel so we may only be able to despatch these details late in the week preceding the trip.

Shepherd Neame cannot accept any liability for changes in timings, starting points, destinations or route imposed by third parties and therefore outside our control.  Passengers must ensure they are at the station from which their journey starts in good time – the train cannot be held for latecomers.

All fares include a reserved seat and this will be advised along with confirmation of timings.

In the unlikely event that the train is cancelled, a full refund will be made but no other liability is incurred.  Should passengers require further cover, we suggest they arrange cancellation insurance.

The train will be operated on behalf of Shepherd Neame by the West Coast Railway Company (WCRC) who are specialists in operating steam trains on the national network.

WCRC and Shepherd Neame staff will be on duty on the train to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers.  Passengers must comply with all requests made by these staff.

Every effort will be made to provide the service advertised, however Shepherd Neame and WCRC reserve the right to alter or amend details if necessary due to circumstances beyond our control.   Such details may include (but are not limited to):-

·    using an alternative steam engine if the advertised locomotive is not available.

·    operating the trip with a diesel locomotive if the booked steam locomotive fails and no suitable alternative can be found (this very unlikely).

·    operating the trip with a diesel locomotive if steam traction is not allowed by Network Rail for any operational reasons (this very unlikely).

·    using a diesel locomotive to assist in the operation of the train in the event of adverse weather conditions.
