The King's Head is a Victorian country inn, with bed and breakfast, situated in the heart of the delightful village of Wye. This is dramatic walking country and is on the route of both the well-known North Downs Way and Pilgrim's Way.
Extensive renovations have seen the old bar and restaurant areas united for the first time, combining comfortable coffee shop lounging with traditional restaurant dining; the newly transformed Kings Head is bringing a slice of modern style and flavour to this grand old building. The guest rooms have also been given the “KH” treatment, with a bright and airy feel, bringing together classic shaker panelling, vintage furniture, and citrus bright soft furnishings.
Drawing on phrases such as ‘locally sourced and seasonal’, ‘freshly baked’ & ‘supporting the local community’, the philosophy at The Kings Head is definitely about quality, flavour, and sustainability. Fresh bread is supplied by the artisan bakers at Wye Bakery, and the sausages are handmade especially by Wakelin’s Butchers, both just a few steps away, and meat comes from Lukehurst farm just a few minutes’ drive from the pub. The Wooden Spoon Preserving Company, Stour Valley Game, and Cheese Makers of Canterbury add to the excellent produce used in the kitchen. With ever changing restaurant quality dishes sitting happily cheek-to-cheek with classic comfort food such as cheese fondue, homemade burgers, and fish and hand cut chips, there is something to tempt most!
