Landlady Jeanette has now achieved international fame with her award-winning ‘Market Sandwich’. The winning sandwich, judged by The 11th Earl of Sandwich, John Montegu, is a delicious combination of pastrami, feta, black beans, marinated red onion, tomato and lime chilli mayonnaise on seeded batch.
Journalists from as far away as Sweden have been to interview Jeanette to taste the famous sandwich and sample the delights of a traditional English pub. Success in the sandwich competition has spurred Jeanette to revamp the menu at The Market and she now offers a delicious range of home cooked breakfasts from 9am as well as traditional pub classics, afternoon tea and her novel homemade desserts served up in old fashioned teacups in the delightful setting of the pub’s 16th century tea room.
