Railway Tavern, Rochester

Railway Tavern

  • Welcome to The Railway Tavern

The Railway Tavern is a popular spot for walkers and cyclists. Located on the cusp of the Hoo Peninsula at Lower Higham, near Rochester, the pub is just off the Saxon Shore Way – a 160-mile route that follows Kent’s ancient coastline.

Originally a pub and a bakery, The Railway Tavern used to also house the local Post Office, but now sticks to fine ales and a welcoming atmosphere. It boasts a newly-refurbished garden and patio, with a heated smoking area.

Music fans are well catered for, with regular Karaoke once a month(1st sunday in the month).   There are also monthly quiz nights(1st wednesday in the month), while pool and darts are also on offer with the pub’s darts team competing in the Peninsular Darts League on Monday nights.

Every Sunday afternoon customers are welcomed to indulge in euchre – a popular card game in Kent.
