The original site of 'The Bush' was on the site of the property that later became the Fountain. The pub was first known to be owned by William Stevens in 1781 who paid £2 tax until this figure doubled in 1789 causing him to move to the present premises.
Both of these sites were at a strategic point of trade until the Seven Mile Lane Bypass was built, taking away the heavy, industrial, horse-drawn traffic. The Bush, Blackbird and Thrush is a beautiful pub in the heart of the Kentish countryside.
Traditional homemade pub food is served lunchtimes and evenings and there is also a large garden with children's play equipment.
