Blue AnchorThe history books tell us that the Blue Anchor "is an 18th century inn which was the resort of various smugglers, poachers and other lawless inhabitants of the district". Situated on the A26 close to Crowborough, the pub has very attractive bars and restaurant. Outside there's a large garden with a children's playground. The Blue Anchor is nearby Ashdown Forest, the Bluebell Railway, Sheffield Park Gardens and the world-famous 'Pooh Bridge' from 'Winnie the Pooh'. Crowborough was also the home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes.
