The Ship Hotel provides a warm welcome for those wanting to enjoy a quiet pint or good food. The building’s 15th century charm can still be witnessed in its wealth of oak beams and inglenook fireplace, while its furnishings, restaurant and en suite rooms provide modern comfort. It is ideally placed for tourists visiting local attractions such as the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.
The Ship’s restaurant also serves as a function room, available for hire for wedding receptions, parties and business meetings. The room accommodates more than 70 guests or delegates and combines period character with modern facilities.
Inside the bar, customers can choose from a range of traditional cask ales, served in perfect condition, distinctive international lagers and a good choice of wines from independent producers around the world. The seated patio area allows drinkers and diners to make the most of the good weather. Heated canopies allow them to enjoy the outside even on cooler days. Customers enjoy playing darts, pool, dominoes and cards and there is a regular disco each Friday, as well as occasional live music. The pub sponsors football, cricket, darts and pool teams and is a regular base for the Romney Marsh Business Association and the local rotary club.
