The Royal Albion, Maidstone

The Royal Albion

The Royal Albion has the honour of being the oldest building in Maidstone - it is at least 500 years old and is a typical Kentish white weatherboarded property situated in the town centre next to the Fremlin Walk shopping centre, and close to the county museum and shops.

It is a buzzy, thriving town pub/wine bar, open all day every day, and serving lunch between 12pm and 3pm.

There is always something going on here with karaoke and live rock music every week - watch out for the ‘Albion’s Got Talent’ competitions! There is a pool table and plenty of board games to entertain too. The pub regularly holds parties and theme nights, and the whole venue can be hired out for private functions.

Internally, the contemporary decor mixes effectively with the ancient building and the old beams and brick fireplaces; outside there is plenty of seating, with attractive decked areas at both the front and back; the smoking area is kept separate, to the side.
