The Hook and Hatchet Inn is a traditional English country pub set in beautiful countryside high on the North Downs at Hucking. It is very close to Leeds Castle - one of Kent’s loveliest visitor attractions, and right next to the Woodland Trust’s Hucking Estate, 560 acres of glorious English countryside open to the public. It is also a convenient stop for walkers on the North Downs Way and the Pilgrims Way and for riders there is hitching for six horses.

Inside is a large open bar, comfortable and nicely decorated, with original floors and fireplaces and with local artists’ work gracing the walls. Good pub food, both traditional dishes and more contemporary and Mediterranean-influenced choices, is served in the bar and garden, and there is a wide selection of wine in addition to Shepherd Neame’s fine beers.

Outside is a large south facing well-maintained garden and terrace, with plenty of seating, a children’s play area, and parking for 100 cars.
