Families are especially welcome, along with dogs that are under control. In the garden we have giant Connect 4, giant Jenga and Hoopla to help keep younger and adult minds active.

The Walnut Tree, named after the big old walnut tree in the garden, is in Loose, a picturesque village on the outskirts of Maidstone where you will find public footpaths for walks past old mill ponds, mills, and the villages that grew up around them. Nearby are plenty of beautiful and historic castles and gardens, including the famous Leeds Castle.

The pub has a comfortable modern country style interior. It has two open fires for a really cosy ambience in winter, surrounded by wooden tables and benches.

Outside there is a large and pretty garden, with a barbecue for summer events and a petanque pitch, and plenty of private parking.

At least three real ales are usually on tap, and there is a good selection of wines, including sparkling wine. Home-cooked food is served in the bar every day, with a choice of home cooked pub grub, including home-made pies, or a lighter meal from the snack menu.
