Quiz night - every Monday
Open to all, the Monday quiz draws a knowledgeable bunch of locals and some from further afield. Fun, sometimes difficult, fierce rivalry to beat TEAM D with a nominal prize for the winning team. Starts at 20.30 usually ends by 22.30.

The Stag traditional English folk session - every Tuesday
Traditional English folk tunes and songs played by local musicians for the love of playing.
Visiting musicians and singers are welcome to join in. For forty years or more the session has be in existance and with the wealth of musical talent around in Hastings the Stag session is one you will be hard to find the like of anywhere else. Never the same, always fun.
Starts at approximately 21.00 until 00.00

Bluegrass session - every Wednesday
The boys of Legs Diamond and friends kick off this lively American folk session. Plenty of guitars, banjo, double bass, mandolin and fiddle playing down home tunes in an authentic American style. Strictly bluegrass in content the quality of musicianship is high.
For roughly eleven years the band has been playing on a wednesday night to the delight of locals and visitors.
Starts at 21.00 ends around 23.00

Shanty singing and sing around - every Thursday
Every Thurday night the Hastings Shanty Singers gather for a good old sing song and beer.
Formed after Pirate Day 2009 the group has gone from a bunch of under confident individuals to a group that is confident to sing infront of 15000 piratres in 2012.
Come along, sing along, join in and if you know a shanty, sing it, we may not have heard it.
Starts around 21.00 ends around 00.00

The third Thursday of every month is given over to RATTLEBAG a local ladies acapella group. The first even was over Jack in the Green in 2009 and since then the ladies have hosted their sing around. Traditional folk songs, shanties, in fact anything you like as long as it's a song. Join in or come and listen. 20.30 to 23.00 in the back bar.

Every Tuesday afternoon the Bourne valley Male Voice Choir rehearses in the back bar in the early evening. Not to be confused with any of the Welsh valley choirs, this group of gentlemen meet for the joy of singing. All male voices welcome to join.

Ukulele Strum around

This takes place on the third Friday of every month. Open to all abilities it's a fun night of strumming and singing. Open to all, no fee.

The Stag is prominent in the annual Hastings Traditional Jack in the Green celebrations, is host to several events put on by Hastings Borough Bonfire Society. Is the home pub of Hannah's Cat Womens Morris side. Home of the ancient game of loggets in August, a wicker man at the top of the garden, mummified cats in the bar, and several real ones.
