Standing in the heart of the pretty village of River, a stroll away from the well-known Crabble Corn Mill and a short drive from the attractive Kearsney Abbey Gardens, is the Royal Oak.

A warm welcome in a relaxing atmosphere is assured with a menu of traditional hearty pub food and a good selection of popular wines and up to three or four real ales available at any one time. Many ingredients are sourced locally and dishes are freshly made on the premises. Food is available every day from 12-2 & 6-9.30 except Saturday & Sunday when food is served all day from 12-9.30, and booking at this popular pub is advisable.​

 

Quiz nights are held every Wednesday evening and since 2003, these have helped raise more than £20,000 for a variety of charities. Look out for occasional specialist food nights.
