The Royal Oak, Dartford

The Royal Oak

The Royal Oak is Dartford’s oldest pub and has been in continuous use as an inn since it was built in the 17th century to serve travellers on the old London to Dover road.

The Grade II listed building, refurbished in the Victorian era, retains much of its character and today is a lively, bustling town centre pub with a warm, friendly atmosphere.

The pub offers a wide choice of traditional Kentish cask ales and distinctive international lagers, kept in peak condition.

Customers can relax in the comfortable bar or sit outside in the walled garden, which has a sheltered patio area with a large, illuminated and heated umbrella.

Inside, customers enjoy watching football, rugby and horse-racing on a flat screen TV, playing cribbage and darts or having a lively argument – the Royal Oak is the home of Dartford Debating Society.

The pub also sponsors its own football team and hosts regular quiz nights.
