Crowborough is the proud possessor of a superb golf course which may almost be said to be world- famous. The view from the terrace at the Club House is exceedingly beautiful and extensive. In 1910 the Captain of Crowborough Beacon Golf Club was Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of the immortal Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. Though Crowborough may be regarded as the golfer's paradise, walkers will also be in their element. The adjacent Ashdown Forest offers fine scope for walking. There are seats at many favourite spots where walkers may rest and at the same time enjoy the scenery.
