A village pub in the heart of the city is an apt description for the attractive White Hart Inn
It was built in the 1800's on the ruins of St Mary's Church. The cellar, once a mortuary, still has the body chute and the pub itself is said to be haunted.
The pub is open from noon everyday and serves a range of ales and lagers, together with what is probably the largest range of wines by the glass in Canterbury.
